German eyewear manufacturer Kreweld, known as RK Design, stumbles upon Kowalski shoes while walking through a shopping mall in Hong Kong. He thinks "why not use this aging technique on glasses" and starts the design process. It has been very difficult to integrate the aging process of shoes and jeans into glasses.
He used many different techniques to achieve the aged look. Made in Germany, these custom frames are individually brushed, sanded and polished. The metal parts of the glasses are given a second-hand appearance by using the oxidation technique. In Kowalski glasses everyone finds memories from the good old days.
